Jetty shows way of hope and new life – Local News – News | Mordialloc Chelsea Leader.
Hey, if you are looking for something to do this easter Sunday, get down to the Chelsea jetty for a dawn service. The Chelsea Baptist Church is hoping to encourage non-church goers to front up and get the uplifting message of Easter.
Uplifting? The reverend Neil Peters is joking isn’t he. Uplifting message indeed.
Anyway, he says its important this year, given the challenges facing the community. Oh what challenges would they be I hear you bleat. Oh, you know, the bushfires and the difficult economic times. You know, those things that jesus did. He let the bush burn and all those people die, he let the rich bastards on Wall Street get rich so the poor bastards in the factories can loose their jobs and be poor. You know, just let the lord into your life and you too can be a rich bastard that lives in a rich place and can’t be burnt by fire or economic downturns.
The Mentone Baptist Church is also holding a brunch from 10.00 a.m. Why? To feed the poor? Oh no, it was successful last year and helped to encourage new people to church. So, its a recruiting campaign.
The Mordialloc Anglican church is trying to do old things in new ways. How about this reverend Jennie Savage, do us all a favour and just get out their and help those that need helping and ditch the old ways.
Its just plain pathetic.
