This poor Aussie guy was trying to get home from Dubai and for whatever reason he was stopped by a plain clothes officer who grabbed his wrist. So he swore at him, well not really at him, he says he said “What the fuck”, which I guess was a question.
Now he’s without his passport and awaiting trial for insulting and using inappropriate language to a police officer. He can get up to a month in prison and a fine to boot.
While I’m all for watching your mouth when out and about, you can’t expect someone not to react when approached in this manner. It’s hardly fair that someone is charged when the officer in concern was in plain clothes and therefore could have been anyone. The charges are a crock of shit and there should be loud and angry protests coming from Australia about the treatment of one of its citizens.
Tell them to fuck off and leave him alone.
Another stupid dumbarsed law that has no right being in the modern civilised world.
And I thought the way I was treated by the Chicago constabulary was atrocious.
