Here we are in October and New South Wales are in the grip of a major catastrophe with bush fires burning out of control, causing much destruction.

The tragic events brings religious nutters out of their homes to invoke the name of their god to help. I blogged about the recent activities of our favourite pastor Danny Nalliah, to recap, he had a dream and he thinks god told him to go to the bushfire area and pray for rain. So he did.

He actually thinks that he made it rain!

Yesterday, Pr Daniel led a prayer meeting in the Blue Mountains area about ten minutes from one of the major brushfires.

He ignored the advice from emergency services that people should stay away. What an arrogant man, not only is he claiming to be within 10 minutes of a major wild fire, he’s dragged along 30 people to pray with him.

While they were praying, the heavens did open and a good soaking rain started falling where they were, resulting in them having to move undercover. The weather conditions completely changed with no dangerous winds and 23 degrees temperature.

The real test for this sort of shit is whether it would have rained anyway. Of course it would have! Just so we’re clear here too – there wasn’t enough rain to put the fires out, and while it helped the emergency continued and in fact the fires flared up again the next day.

This morning at 7.30am, Pr Daniel was in contact with people from the Blue Mountains, particularly several pastors, who confirmed that the soaking rain (in some places up to 5 mm of rain) continued all through the night in almost all of the bushfire affected areas.

But not enough to actually stop the bushfires. Maybe they didn’t pray hard enough.

The good news is that all four major bushfires have been downgraded this morning from emergency to watch and act.

Yes, that’s right, but not because you bunch of extremely silly people spent time in a park wailing at the sky. What you won’t hear is that the next day the fires flared again and were again upgraded to ’emergency’.

Pr Daniel has activated an action plan of prayer from 12-1pm today Wednesday 23rd October.

How is praying considered an action plan?

Before I picked up Pastor Daniel Nalliah from Mascot this morning, Jesus began to answer Pastor Daniel’s prayer. It began to rain requiring me to use my car’s windscreen wipers.

Wow, how powerful is Danny, it’s raining before he even gets off the plane!!

The rain continued through our prayer and praise time. At the end we believed that we had achieved what God had called us together to do.

Prayer and praise time… interesting concept… anyway, why does god need you nutters at all? Surely it would have been easier to prevent the fire and destruction by making it rain before it got so bad? Your god is a bastard.

Our God answers prayer and particularly when we obey his voice and do quickly what is asked of us.

Really? So nobody else was praying for rain before Danny arrived to wail at the sky? You know what he prayed for? He prayed for other pastors who think abortion is ok, he prayed for marriage and he prayed to stop suicides. He prayed for those who have had abortions. He actually thinks that the reason for the fire is because people are sinners that have abortions, get divorced or kill themselves. Danny believes that his presence and words of ‘repentance’ are what’s needed to stop a bush fire.

The next day we get another blog post with more insane mumbo jumbo:

We were saddened not to see anyone thank God for the rain on Tuesday night the 22nd of October, because that was the time that the Australian media announced with a great deal of negative hype that it was going to be the worst 24 hours.

Could that be because no gods had anything to do with it? Maybe the sadness is because nobody showed up with TV cameras to film the insanity and simply ignored the outrageous claim that Pastor Danny is able to command god to make it rain.

Well, glory to God for a group of 30 plus believers in Christ Jesus met in the Blue Mountains with Pr Daniel and stormed heaven in repentance and prayer, as the Blue Mountains is very well known for its satanic occult activity.

Only 30. That’s the best you could do? How many believers does it take to shut their eyes and mumble some words to ‘storm’ heaven. Up until now I had no idea that the area was well known, sorry, very well known for its satanic activity. No wonder it was burning!

Our defeated Senator candidate, Pasta Danny had a dream!

I told him that I would pray through the night and if God gave me a clear word, I would come there to pray. In the early hours of this morning, I had two dreams. In the 1st dream I was with this Pastor friend and a few others on our knees in an open park in the Blue Mountains very close to the bushfires, praying and crying unto the Lord to send the appropriate winds and rains to stop the bushfires. Moments later, I had a 2nd dream in which I saw a news reporter on the 4:30pm news broadcast stating, ‘Sudden weather change brings hope to put the bushfires out.’”

Woo hoo – a prediction!

He goes on to say:

In response, we at CTFM have called an urgent prayer meeting which Pr Daniel will be personally leading from 3-4pm today Tuesday 22nd October in the Blue Mountains at Glenbrook Park, Cnr Ross St & Park St, Glenbrook. Near tennis courts. Turn off Gt Westetn Hwy at Tourist Infirmation Centre / Caltex Service Station. (approximately 5-10 minutes’ drive from bushfires).

Pr Daniel stated, “I believe that as the people of God unite this afternoon from 3-4pm to repent and pray as in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14, there will be a positive change in the weather in the next 24 hours with the appropriate winds and rains to stop the bushfires, despite the weather bureau’s current predictions.”

So rather than stay away from a dangerous area he is actually inviting people to drive into a bushfire area to pray for rain.

I thought the belief was that god was everywhere – is the prayer somehow more magical when you’re in danger of being burned alive?

So, urgent call, get there before it starts pouring down!

I hope the authorities charge him with being a public nuisance and run him out of the state.

On February 7th 2009 a big fire came and burned the land in Victoria. Black Saturday it’s called. 173 people died.

So, this year, the first anniversary, see’s people falling over themselves holding various memorial services.Â Not that I mind that, these fires have touched many people and I’m sure that the passage of time will never dull the pain of losing a loved one, losing your family home, losing every thing that is important to you.

But then, who jumps in on the act.Â Churches.Â Suddenly these batshit crazy types are holding memorial services.

“We Remember” says this sign.Â “A Service to Honour and Remember Black Saturday”.Â You have to be kidding me.Â They want you to go to church, they want you to listen to them drone on about how much god loves you and has a plan.Â They don’t want you to ask the question “Why did god let this happen”.Â That’s because they don’t want to give you the answer that we all know.Â There is no god.Â If there was a god, an all powerful god that takes an interest in your life then he wouldn’t let you be in the way of a bushfire, there are so many ways that this god thing could have prevented a bushfire, or an earthquake, or a tsunami, but he doesn’t.Â Shit happens.Â The churches try to gloss over the reality and attempt to give you comfort and meaning. They’re not helping, and they can’t have it both ways.

Remember those who who died.Â Remember those who are left behind.Â Care for each other, help each other.Â Do that and the world will be a much better place.Â You don’t need god to do it.

Catholic Bible

In case you didn’t know, there’s a catholic bible. Â It’s the same babble as the rest of the holy babbles out there (and there’s thousands) and of course, there’s websites.

Over at Catholic Bible in a Year.org you can find out how to read the bible in a year, true dinks. Â The catholic version of it that is.

Today’s lesson isÂ predestination. Â You know what destination is don’t you – its the place you are aiming for, the final place of your trip and so on. Â Pre means before, in this case predestination means that the trip is all sorted out before you get there, and in the case of catholic belief that’s about god having a plan for you. Â Neat.

First of all it does not mean that God is in any way arbitrary in his dealings with us or others. Secondly Predestination does not mean that we are not responsible for our own actions before God.

Right, he’s not arbitrary, tell that to the thousands who died in the tsunamis, bushfires and earthquakes. Â Anyway, they’re saying that while god has a plan, you can do what you like because god has a plan and while you can’t change the plan (predestination) you are responsible for the actions of the plan.

It means that Godâ€™s plan for our lives is not an accident. It does not mean that we are at the mercy of forces that operate at random. Destination means that Godâ€™s plan for us was intended from the very beginning â€” and that he has carefully thought out, in complete detail, all that needs to be done for our Salvation, as well as for our continued spiritual growth.

So, the plan is not an accident, it’s a plan. Â We are not at the mercy of forces – i.e. fire, earthquake, giant people drowning waves. Â God’s plan was intended… from the beginning… and it’s carefully thought out, in complete detail.

My head hurts.

Look, either we are in control of our own decisions or not. Â Either god made a plan, a detailed plan for us, and knows the outcome or he doesn’t. Â You can’t have it both ways.

If the plan is already there, then the catholic god is a bastard and he should return to the local TAFE college to do a course in simple time management and planning, because quite honestly, he sucks at it.

Twitter is a wonderful thing.Â You can find out all sorts of information.

There are always trending topics – a subject that a number of people are tweeting about.Â I like today’s it was called #thankugod. There were about 100 messages a minute coming in thick and fast.

I followed it for much of the day and was laughing at some of the things that god gets thanked for.

Just now, as I’m writing this blog, the Americans are waking up.Â The christian Americans reach for their computer or mobile phone and send a tweet – it says something like:

Hundreds of these messages.Â Those guys have jesus bad.

Churches unite in prayer for suffering, homeless | The Australian.

’tis a bit rich.Â The god that they line up to thank for all the great work being done to counter the bushfires would seem to be the same god that allowed it to happen.Â Why would this god burn a house down and then answer your prayer to find accommodation for those people who just lost their house.Â Surely it would be easier all around to leave the house the fuck alone in the first place.

And why are there all these great prayer thingys happening, but no one is asking the big questions.Â Who is this god, why did he let this happen, I thought he loved us.

Then this little quote:

“We know that we do not have answers to all of their questions.”

Yes you do have the answers, you’re just not game enough to say it out loud.Â The reason your powerful god let his happen is because there is no god.Â Try a bit of honesty, get off your worn out old knees, pull your britches up and go do something useful.

Now, I’m as crazy as the next Llama.Â But surely it must be crazy, when during the worse fires in living memory, you decide to go ahead with your wedding, and put at risk the lives of all your friends (80) with the full knowledge that a fire is bearing down on you and you won’t be able to stay.

Close to 200 people have lost their lives, over 1,000 homes have been destroyed, and you waltz into a Winery to have your nuptials and then bolt.Â Gee, I bet that’ll make an interesting story to tell the kiddies.

Danny Nalliah says that satan is having a go at Australia.Â It seems that because Victoria allow abortions, god has seen fit to take his protection off us and now satan is free to have a go.Â He says the reason we have had these devastating bush fires is because of the abortion laws.

What a knob.Â What a fuck stick.

He’s what’s wrong with religion.Â The claim that he understands his god and his ‘plan’ and the notion that his god would let satan play a few tricks on us.Â I can only assume that he believes those who died in the bushfires supported the abortion rules.Â Those that were lucky enough to escape are still being protected and think the laws should be repealed.

They’re reporting over $30 million dollars being donated to the bushfire appeal. What an incredible feat. The bushfires seems to have stirred something in we Australians. Its a very impressive amount, and if you have contributed to that, congratulations, well done. Those affected by the tragedy of the fires will thank you.
